Privacy
MuteSpot collects reports about mobile coverage, not about people. Here is exactly what a report contains and who can see it.
What a report contains
- Where
- The poster’s zone, or the floor you chose in the app
- When
- The time you made the report, and when it arrived
- The problem
- The options you ticked, for example “Calls drop out”
- Mobile provider
- The one you chose, plus the network detected from your connection
- Optional details
- Visitor, tenant or staff; a comment; a speed test result
- A device code
- A one-way code made from a random ID stored on your phone. It counts different people and limits repeat reports. It can’t identify your phone or you
What is never kept
- Your name, phone number or email address. None are asked for.
- Your internet (IP) address. It is used for a moment to detect your network and check for spam, then discarded by MuteSpot. Our hosting provider's standard request logs may hold it for a short time.
- Your GPS location. The installed app sends it once to find which centre you are in, then it is discarded.
- Anything else from your phone.
Who can see reports
- The centre owner's team and the organisation that manages its coverage, through the MuteSpot dashboard.
- A mobile carrier sees only reports on its own network, and only when the centre owner shares them.
- Comments are read before any report is shared, and personal details are removed.
